With all the lies and corruption built up to protect the select few of the world, who are we to trust? Who do we look to when danger creeps and lurks an entire population of people? Who can we rely on for trustworthy information about the state of our world? Well, it’s certainly not the government.
Recently there’s been this virus outbreak that’s got everyone and their mothers panicking. It started off in China, presumably from wild animals being sold in the market. People started gettin’ sick left and right, some even dropping dead. It leaves ya wondering how serious this whole thing is and whether anyone is safe from infection.
Chen Min, who caught symptoms similar to that of a common cold, didn’t get better from her ambiguous illness. She experienced the exact treatment I just mentioned. She was isolated in the hospital to prevent contamination and died in hours. She’s one of many.
According to the Chinese government, it’s all “under control”- they don’t present themselves as being worried about managing the spread of the virus. But ya know what’s kinda sketchy? Loads of people are comin’ forward, sharing stories about relatives and loved ones catchin’ a bad case of “pneumonia”, and being sent to a hospital only to die and be cremated.
Instantly.
Lemme cut to the meat of the story. The general public suspects the coronavirus to be spreading like wildfire, with deadly and threatening results. With the amount of increased suspicious reports listing causes of death to be “pneumonia,” it’s clear somethin’ fishy’s goin’ on. It looks like a cover up. They’re fudgin’ the numbers, downplayin’ the severity of the spread. Going as far as to take away peace of mind from the families of potentially misdiagnosed victims, giving them hardly a moment to say goodbye before they pass.
With all else, there’s always a reason behind cover ups.
What would acknowledging the severity of the coronavirus mean for the government? Automatic responsibility to combat it- no, really combat it. More medical supplies, more aid, more money, especially to parts of China that are already in mountains of debt. They’d lose money, they’d risk looking “weak” to outside countries. They don’t want to forfeit power. So instead, the government downplays and goes out of their way to make things seem okay.
Few governments out there really look after the well being of the general public, let’s be honest here. Governments are responsible for making their parts of the world go round, and like I said in my last blog post, it’s money that makes it go round. So you bet your ass if they can save their time, effort, resources, and manpower on covering up instead of overcoming, they’re gonna pick the former.
But, no matter how much you cover up shit, you can still smell it a mile away. As optimistic and reassuring as China’s leader Xi Jinping is about the coronavirus, you can still tell they’re worried, to say the least.
So worried, they shut down 13 major cities. Oh, and fucking Disney too. How’s that for just some cases of “pneumonia”? When you cover up shit, it always finds its way to resurface.
It’s hard enough trying to hide parts of your own fucking private life. Just imagine trying to hide something as terrifying as a rising killer virus from an entire country of people? I’m all for a good cover up story, don’t get me wrong. But I emphasize the “good” part. It’s just plain stupid failing to acknowledge danger when it’s starin’ you in the face. By trying so hard to maintain their reputation, China tries to look strong and well- which just fucks them up in the worst ways.
The government should just bite the bullet and do what they can to prevent further outbreak. It’s better for them to look weak and still have people to control, than to look strong and end up with no people to rule. It hurts to do the right thing sometimes, but it’s just something you gotta do.
We just have to wait at this point for the government to wake up and pick the lesser of two evils. There really is no way the general public can do anything to sway them in any direction.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what I call the waiting game. Some don’t live to see the end of the game, but it’s all we can do. Wait and see what the government finally chooses to do with the truth.
Ranch.
